Holi is the vibrant Festival of Colors that marks the arrival of spring and celebrates the victory of good over evil. It's known for its colorful celebrations, water fights, and joyous atmosphere.

Holi commemorates the victory of Lord Vishnu's devotee Prahlada over the demon king Hiranyakashipu and his sister Holika. It also celebrates the divine love between Radha and Krishna.

The festival has ancient roots in Hindu mythology and agricultural traditions. It marks the end of winter and the beginning of spring, symbolizing renewal and fertility.

Mythological Story

According to legend, the demon king Hiranyakashipu tried to kill his son Prahlada, a devotee of Lord Vishnu. His sister Holika, who had a boon to be immune to fire, tried to burn Prahlada but was herself consumed by the flames while Prahlada remained unharmed.

Holi promotes social harmony, breaks barriers of caste and class, and encourages environmental consciousness through eco-friendly celebrations.
